From Product Description:

Every so often that story comes along that reminds us of what it’s like to experience love for the first time—against the odds, when you least expect it, and with such passion that it completely changes you forever.

An unexpected discovery takes eighty-four-year-old Lily Davis Woodward to 1945, and the five days that forever changed her life. Married for only a week before her husband was sent to fight in WWII, Lily is anxious for his return, and the chance to begin their life together. In honor of the soldiers' homecoming, the small Georgia town of Toccoa plans a big celebration. And Jake Russo, a handsome Italian immigrant, also back from war, is responsible for the elaborate fireworks display the town commissioned. But after a chance encounter in a star-lit field, he steals Lily's heart and soul--and fulfills her in ways her socially-minded, upper-class family cannot. Now, torn by duty to society and her husband--and the poor, passionate man who might be her only true love--Lily must choose between a commitment she's already made and a love she’s never known before.

Fireworks Over Toccoa takes us to a moment in time that will resonate with readers long after the book’s unforgettable conclusion. A devastating and poignant story, this debut novel will resonate with anyone who believes in love.

Bright Spot of Reading

Fireworks over Toccoa may not have the eloquence of Nicholas Sparks and the like, but Jeffrey Stepakoff did the research of this story for a movie script, but in turn has taken that research and interwove it into a delightful, enjoyable and entertaining read.

I loved this book! I loved the characters and the descriptions and the way it was written! A very romantic story that leaves the reader missing the characters after the book is finished. Indulge in this romantic story!!!!

Fireworks Over Toccoa

Just finished reading Jeffrey Stepakoff's, Fireworks Over Toccoa and I'm so sad to leave his Toccoa. I fell in love with the place, the characters, and the period and wanted the story to continue. Beautifully written, almost poetic, Stepakoff creates a world you want to be a part of. Can't wait for his next book!
Cool novel set in an interesting time and place.

My review title says it all- it's a fun page-turner that I zoomed through in less than a week. I liked the storyline and was impressed by the author's knowledge and detail concerning war and pyrotechnics. The writing style was a little cliched for me, but that didn't kill the book- definitely a good summer read. Plus, I am a sucker for WWII-era novels and anything set in the deep south, so that was a big selling point for me! I really enjoyed this book- nothing super groundbreaking but enjoyable nonetheless.

Two Roads Diverged Into a Wood....Lit by Fireworks

A good, warm and passionate love story, suitable for men and women...reminiscent of "Bridges of Madison County" in many ways.
The outcome may be evident, due in part to "Bridges of Madison County," but the story is moving and heartrending.

A story of two roads, two lives, coming together and of roads taken and not taken, told in the setting of War World II and a small Southern town, Toccoa. Georgia.

This books strikes a chord, in young and old, in men and women. A book well worth living as we consider some of our own roads, those taken and those not taken.
