Audio version

The audio version of this book read by a woman, I don't know who, is horrible. The woman has serious problems with inflection and I feel compelled to go to the library to finish the story. She is very irritating.
The story itself, does not come up to the quality of DK's better books. It's OK but seems more amateurish than what DK is capable of. I guess it was one of his early books and he decided to dust it off and re-sell it instead of working on something new.

I loved this Book, I didn't want to put it down. I am a Dean Koontz fan and I enjoy all his books.

I never read it.

I purchased this book and several others by Mr.Koontz for a friend. I have way to much other stuff to read to get interested in this type of book. The person I purchased them for liked them very much.

Not the 4.5 stars that other reviewers gave it...but not bad

This book didn't have as many characters as some of the other Koontz books I've read, which meant I didn't get as many opportunities to see Koontz' talent at breathing life into his characters.
I like it in books like From The Corner..., Watchers, Frankenstein or Odd Thomas where there's all kinds of characters w/ all kinds of lives, then they unite to battle the forces of evil.

It's still a great read & very different cause it's not in the US.
Give it a try & see how you like it!

Here's how I rank the 14 books I've read so far:
1-Odd Thomas
2-Frankenstein 1 (a very very close second!)
3-Frankenstein 2 (a very very close third!)
4-Watchers (a very very close fourth!)
5-From The Corner Of His Eye
6-Lightning
7-Hideaway
8-Strangers
9-Velocity
10-Brother Odd
11-The Key To Midnight
12-Odd Hours
13-Forever Odd
14-The Taking
