I have read every single "In Death" book and this one left me feeling a little blah. I absolutely LOVE series books, and have ever since The Babysitter's Club stole my heart a long, long time ago. The "In Death" books and James Patterson's Alex Cross series are my current favorites right now. I would think during any point in a series we will have ups and downs, and unfortunately this isn't the best book in the In Death series.

I love Dallas and Roarke, and all of the other characters as well. Typically, they are witty, colorful, and have a great banter that almost makes you feel like you're watching a sitcom instead of just reading a book. I love that I can completely visualize everything about these characters because they are well developed over the course of the series. However, a lot of that banter was just missing from this book. There are the typical interactions, but way more focus on Dallas the "Bad Ass" cop and less about Dallas as a normal human being.

Additionally, the plot just wasn't developed enough for me to really get behind why this crazy murderer did what he did. I would have liked more character development across the board, especially with regard to the background/life of the murderer. Even though like all murder mysteries we figure out who the killer is, the killer is caught, etc...it never really went that far into how someone could be this miserably messed up.

I read this one in less than 3 days. It's an easy read and will keep you entertained, like usual, but don't expect to be blown away.
This series is awesome. If you haven't read any of the books you need to start at the beginning. Each book is a stand alone work but refers to events from other stories. Very highly recommended.
I have read each and every one of these - and I LOVED THIS ONE!!!! Nothing can compare to Eve Dallas when she is on a case. I can't wait for the next one. I have already read Fantasy - and it was good - but not as good as this one I think.

Eve Dallas Fans are NOT going to be dissapointed.
I have read every "in death" book in the entire series, I actually own them, they are all on my bookshelf, and I have enjoyed every single one of them, until this one. This episode is very low on content and very high on graphic content. I was so disgusted by their constant description of the atrocities inflicted on the 1st murder victim -- a 17 year old rape victim -- that my stomach turned and I am really turned off the entire series now. I am seriously considering chucking the whole set. I genuinely hope the next book is better because right now one of my favorite reading guilty pleasures is in serious jeopardy.
Nore Roberts is one of my most favorite authors. I enjoy her books written as JD Robb. I love the how the books are written in time more 50 years away but are still very believable. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
